Contemporary Artwork

Time flies by so quickly.  As I logged on here, I suddenly realized that it's been two weeks since my last post.  So much for my personal commitment to stay on top of things. <LOL>

Today, I'm going to comment on my style and how, at times, I create something a bit different.  My tastes are primarily conservative and traditional which you notice when you view my galleries.  But at times, I'll come across a situation where the lighting is different or there are unique reflections that cause me to step out of my usual comfort zone.  The results sometime thrill me and then other times, I concede that it's not for me but others may love it.  Having said that, I do sometimes create contemporary abstracts and offer them for purchase or simply viewing.  Please do leave feedback when you see these.  I'm happy to learn what you think.

During the past couple weeks, I've put together a few contemporary pieces that have resulted in others saying "wow."  Let me share them here.

Contemporary Abstract

Good morning.  My photography interests are primarily with architectural subjects but I'm always on the look out for unique shapes, color, and light.  This image caught my eye so yesterday, I took time out to shoot and want to share it.

Contemporary Abstract with Colors
The subject is a molded reflector and was shot very close up with an ultra wide angle lens.  The colors are drawn in from the surrounding area... trees, grass, rocks, and sky.  I decided to do some modest digital manipulations to bring out and spread the colors around.  I really like the effects and think it's a beautiful piece of work that would look good in the home or office.  What do you think?
